Dardadine Wind Farm

A new wind farm project in Australia

Project Location

The Project lies approximately 94 kilometres north east of Bunbury, within the Shire of Williams, WA.

The Project is located within a rural setting, characterised by a sparse open landscape primarily used for sheep farming and conservation. The Project will have minimal impact to farming, using less than 3% of the total land area.

Why is the project located where it is?

  • Excellent exposure to Western Australia's world class wind resources
  • Located 40km to the north east of the State Owned Muja and Collie Power Stations, the largest and key power stations in the South West Interconnected System (SWIS)
  • Excellent transport access with minimal impact to local roads and excellent access to major roads
  • Complementary use of land with farming. Much of the site is used for sheep grazing, and grazing can occur right up to the base of the turbine
  • Excellent distance buffering of wind turbines to the nearest sensitive land not associated with the development, with a minimum setback of 1.5km
  • Very low environmental impacts - the site has been extensively cleared for farming.
